ARMED FORCES LAW ASSOCIATION OF NEW ZEALAND

MEMORIAL PRIZE

The Armed Forces Law Association of New Zealand (AFLANZ) has established an annual prize valued at $1,000.00 for New Zealand barristers and solicitors and students studying law at a New Zealand university.  The prize is awarded in memory of the enormous contributions made to New Zealand military law by the late Captain E.D. Deane, OBE, RNZN and the late Colonel G.B.M. Law, MBE.

The prize will be awarded to the best unpublished paper of 5,000 to 12,000 words on a topic related to New Zealand military law. Contributions will be judged by the Editor of the New Zealand Armed Forces Law Review and a panel of senior military lawyers appointed by the President of AFLANZ.  AFLANZ reserves the right not to award the prize in a particular year if no papers of a suitable standard are submitted.

The winning paper will be published in the New Zealand Armed Forces Law Review and the prize-winner will receive a complimentary registration at the next AFLANZ conference.

All contributions are to be emailed in Microsoft Word format to the Editor by 2 July 2007 and must be accompanied by the author's name, contact details, and university of study.
