Membership of AFLANZ is open to:

• all serving and retired members of the New Zealand Armed Forces (including Police) who are qualified in law;
• all present and former Judge Advocates General (including Deputy Judge Advocates General) and judge advocates;
• all present and former members of the New Zealand Armed Forces Court-Martial Counsel Panel;
• all persons who hold, or have held, appointment as an appointed judge of the Courts Martial Appeal Court;
• any other person having a genuine interest in the objects of AFLANZ, admitted to AFLANZ by resolution of the Committee.
